We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our integrated A/E team in Augusta, Georgia. As a multi-discipline Architecture, Engineering, and Landscape Architecture firm, we deliver impactful projects across commercial, educational, industrial, medical, government, religious, and recreational sectors.
In this role, you will lead the structural design of complex building systems while collaborating closely with our in-house architects, landscape architects, and civil and MEP engineers to deliver cohesive, high-performance solutions. Responsibilities:
- Perform facility assessments and develop reports of analyses
- Develop specifications and construction documents for diverse structures (steel, concrete, masonry, wood) using tools such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Proactively coordinate schedules and design details with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients throughout all phases of design
- Manage project budgets, develop technical proposals, and oversee the production of construction documents
- Ensure compliance with local codes, zoning regulations, and sustainability guidelines
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and design reviews
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and documentation
- Guide and review the work of junior engineers and Revit Technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Conduct site visits, attend client meetings, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs to ensure design intent is met during construction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
- An active Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; a Structural Engineer (SE) license is highly preferred
- A minimum of 8-12+ years in of professional experience in structural building design
- Experience with building codes and specifications
- Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- High proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, along with a thorough understanding of building codes (IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent presentation skills and the ability to speak in front of an audience
- Well organized
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
